Our Blossoms class is our unique, child-centered class group for elementary age students from kindergarten through sixth grade. This program is open to homeschoolers, virtual school or charter school learners, or children with special needs who would benefit from a smaller scale quality educational environment while they develop the skills necessary to progress in a traditional classroom later in their educational journey. Our integrative program is open to children of all abilities with any level of support needs.
The Blossom's program focuses on providing opportunities for youngsters to engage in hands-on learning focused on STEAM concepts incorporating Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math using integrated unit studies and child-led investigations and explorations. Like our early childhood class, our Blossoms spend much of their day immersed in nature in our outdoor classroom or on our nature playground. Daily therapist-led “nurture groups” continue to teach vital social emotional skills and develop a strong sense of self-confidence and belonging.
We utilize a holistic approach to academics incorporating the Math Out of the Box curriculum, Starfall English Language Arts Kindergarten program, Spalding Phonics and the Handwriting Without Tears program. Children work daily in small groups and individually with their mentor-teacher. This balanced approach prepares children academically for future educational opportunities in traditional or non-traditional learning environments. Our emphasis on small class sizes continues with a limit of 12 children in this group.
